Special Squad

The Pawtucket Police Special Squad is responsible for the investigation of criminal vice activities within the City of Pawtucket. The crimes include but are not limited to: Illegal Narcotics, Prostitution, Illegal Gaming, Illegal weapons sales as well as other special investigations requested through the Major of the Detective Division and the Chief of Police.

The Special Squad utilizes information received from many different sources many of which are valuable but none more than the information received from the citizens of Pawtucket. Information can be forwarded to the Special Squad via the tip form below or by calling the tip line at 401-728-4242.

The Special Squad is currently run by Det. Lt. David Holden and Det. Sgt. Dino Giorgio. The office is staffed with detectives that are trained to investigate vice crimes. The Special Squad currently has detectives assigned to the D.E.A. task force and the F.B.I. HIDTA task force. The Unit maintains close ties with numerous agencies to assist the Unit with investigations. These contacts include D.E.A., F.B.I.., United States Secret Service, U.S. Customs, A.T.F. and the RI Department of Corrections The Special Squad maintains close contacts with all local municipal police agencies especially those that border the City of Pawtucket.
