Kelley III
Thank your
for your interest in the Pawtucket Police
Department. The Pawtucket Police Department is a
full service law enforcement agency comprised of
153 sworn members and more than 50 civilian
employees. We are the 3rd largest
municipal police department in the state, behind
Providence and Warwick.
The
department is organized into three divisions
comprised of the patrol division, the criminal
investigative division and the administrative
division. There are many different positions
within these divisions that offer a wide array
of opportunity for career development. Good

Employment
Process
Upon
completion of the written test, agility test and
interview process, candidates receiving a
passing grade will be placed on an eligibility
list for employment.
As
positions become available, candidates will be
selected to attend the
Rhode Island Municipal
Police Academy, which lasts
approximately fifteen (15) weeks.
Upon
successful completion of the Academy, candidates
are sworn into the department and begin a
12-week Field Training Program and one (1) year
probationary period.

- Must be a U.S. citizen; 18 years of
