Thank your for your interest in the Pawtucket Police Department. The Pawtucket Police Department is a full service law enforcement agency comprised of 148 sworn members and more than 50 civilian employees.  We are the 3rd largest municipal police department in the state, behind Providence and Warwick. 

The department is organized into three divisions comprised of the patrol division, the criminal investigative division and the administrative division.  There are many different positions within these divisions that offer a wide array of opportunity for career development.

Application Requirements

- Must be a U.S. citizen; 18 years of age or older.

- Submit a copy of a High School Diploma

- Submit a copy of a valid Driver's license

- Must have at least thirty (30) college credits (from an accredited college)

- Must have one (1) year ACTIVE Military Service, (in lieu of college credits)

- Entry Level Written Exam

- Initial Interview Board

- Successful Background Investigation

- 5% Residency - Must show minimum 3 yrs

Physical Fitness Standards

All applicants are required to complete the following Physical Assessment:

- 1  minute sit-up test

- 1 minute push up test

- 1.5 mile run

- 300 meter sprint

 

 

Salary & Benefits

- Patrolman-After 6 months- $1065.68 weekly

- 15 paid Holidays Annually

- Longevity Pay - 7.5% to 10.75%

- 20 year retirement benefit
