The Pawtucket Municipal Court handles the majority of traffic violations issued by the Pawtucket Police Department. The Court is presided over by the Honorable Chief Justice Donna M. Nusselbush and also Honorable Justice John Gannon.

Look at the ticket. There is a section that reads court location. If the court location is Municipal Court the violation can be paid anytime prior to the court date listed on the ticket. If you wish to pay by credit card you can pay your bill online at Pay Bill Online, call our toll free number at 1-866-547-2312; ;pay using cash, check or money order, by mail; or in person at the Pawtucket City Hall, Room 111. If the court location is R.I.T.T. (Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal) and there is a fine listed on the ticket, you have eighteen days from the date of the violation to pay it. You can pay the violation by mail following the instructions on the ticket or you can Pay Bill Online. If your ticket lists a "HEARING" you MUST appear on the date/time listed.
If the court location is District Court, the violation cannot be paid by mail and you must appear at the 6th District Court, 1 Dorrance St., Providence, RI on the date and time listed on the ticket.
If you wish to contest a ticket (you feel you are not guilty of the violation). Do not make payment and simply show up at the court (listed in the court location section of the ticket) on the date and time listed on the ticket. To reschedule your court date contact the Pawtucket Police Department at 401-727-9100 and dial extension 824, 822 or 739 to get a clerk that can assist you in rescheduling your court date/time. The hours the clerks are available are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
If you accidentally miss a court date or trial date it is very important to contact the Municipal Court as soon as possible. Call the Pawtucket Police Department at 401-727-9100 and dial extension 822, 739 or 824 to speak with a Clerk. They will assist you with what is necessary to correct the situation.

From the North take I-95 South to exit 29 "Downtown Pawtucket". Turn right at the stop sign onto Fountain St. Travel 0.2 mi to Exchange St and turn right. At the traffic light turn left onto Roosevelt Avenue. The Pawtucket Police Station will be on your left.
From the South take I-95 North to exit 28 "School St". Turn left onto School St at the bottom of the ramp. Follow School St to the end (0.2 mi.) and turn left onto Broadway. Take a right onto Main St. and a right at the first Traffic light onto Roosevelt Ave. The police station will be on the right side.

If you got a letter in the mail titled "Warrant Squad" it is because you failed to pay a parking ticket or another non-traffic related city ordinance (i.e. loud music, barking dog, etc.). If you received such a letter you must contact Municipal Court at 401-727-9100, extensions 822, 739 or 824. Please call between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. - Monday thru Friday.
If you got a letter in the mail titled "Notice of Action" it is because you failed to pay a fine on your ticket or failed to appear for your court date. If you received this letter it means your license is about to be suspended. Please contact Municipal Court, as soon as possible, at 401-727-9100, extensions 739, 824 or 822. Please call between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday. All suspensions must be paid in cash or with a bank check.
Street sweeping will take place on the same day as recycling pick-up. There will be a parking ban during this time from 7am-3pm. Aligning the schedules, will reduce issues with recycling bins being blocked by cars and not able to be picked up, as well as streets not being swept due to cars being parked on the road. Between December 1st and April 1st, the City of Pawtucket will declare a winter storm emergency if there is a prediction of two or more inches of snow. At that time a parking ban will be put in effect on all city streets and you must move your vehicle off the street at that time. The parking ban will be posted on all local radio and television broadcasts and on this website. You can also dial the police station at 401-727-9100 and dial 888 on the auto attendant to check on a parking ban.
